Small Company Check-Up

A local company without IT support had 8 machines (6 in town and 1 remote) that all needed a general health check. I walked them though installing remote access software on each and then spent the next few evenings going through each machine.

For each machine, I checked Windows Update settings and ensured they were current and set to automatic mode (most were missing XP Service Pack 3 so that also had to be installed). I then reviewed their antivirus/malware software, ran the scans and cleaned up the inevitable [minor] infections. I also checked over hardware specs and made suggestions where necessary.
