So yesterday I was a little confused about www.google.com/microsoft. Turns out, as simplerich noted, that www.google.com/linux, www.google.com/mac, www.google.com/bsd and www.google.com/unclesam all work as well. Google calls them “specialty” searches. How long have I been using this search-engine and never knew about these? Live and learn.
Speaking of google, they’ve released version 2 of Picasa. I haven’t played with it much myself, but I’ve heard generally positive things about the predecessor, maybe this time I’ll check into it.
In the interesting quiz department (new today!) have a look at this one: http://www.self-gov.org/quiz.html. Turns out I have right-wing- libertarian tendencies. No wonder I don’t sleep well at night…
I often use my PocketPC as a MP3 player. I like GSPlayer for all that it can do, but the neatest thing it can do is play audio streams (assuming I can connect my PPC to whatever wifi network is around). I use this at work frequently to help be productive. yeah, that’s it… anyways, every now and then it just stops playing and “loses the stream”. No biggie, I just tap “play” and it starts again. This really only started happening in the last week or so. Today, I Finally made the connection - we moved the office microwave recently… today it hit me that everytime someone nuked their lunch I lost my music. The microwave is about 15 feet from my office door and pretty much in a straightline between me and the wap. No wonder it seemed worse in the middle of the day…
