Google Chat?!?

Rumor’s have been flying around about Google and IM. Well, according to this place, it will be announced tomorrow – and can be used today.

Google Desktop v2

Google have released the latest incarnation of Google Desktop, now version 2. So far, I like it. Grabbed it yesterday so haven’t spent much time with it yet, but the initial impression is very favorable.

Some nice new stuff – the plug-in for Outlook is quite groovy for the work email, that’s for sure.

Microsoft's answer to the Google Portal

I picked this one up over at Slashdot. There’s another new portal option to play with. This one is from Microsoft. They’re calling it an “incubation experiment” and so far, it seems pretty slick. You have to click around a bit to get the hang of it (tip – click “Start”…).
