Google have released the latest incarnation of Google Desktop, now version 2. So far, I like it. Grabbed it yesterday so haven’t spent much time with it yet, but the initial impression is very favorable.
Some nice new stuff – the plug-in for Outlook is quite groovy for the work email, that’s for sure. Getting your gmail stuff indexed locally is new (I think?) as well. Add to that some new sidebar and stuff that I’m still exploring – OH, and you could feed the side panel RSS feeds too. This thing is about to replace a web browser… Go check out the features page and I’ll save some typing. (H)
