More on Google Analytics

So far, I’m rather underwhelmed by Google Analytics. As countless other blogs have likely already noted, I don’t think Google was even close at anticipating the demand for this as a free service!
As of right now, my stats are current through Thursday.
I can’t seem to get access to the “raw” logs. I’d like to make sure I’m filtering out my own personal traffic from the logs. While analytics does offer filtering, all my experimenting with the filters have not reduced my page or view counts. So either I’m doing something wrong, filtering doesn’t work, or filtering isn’t real time. I sure hope it isn’t the last one…
To be fair, I really like most of what I’ve seen. Hopefully over time this will get stabilized. I can see where it will be very useful!

ok, this is weird. I deleted my attempts at filters last night. Total numbers hadn’t changed. Checked a couple times today to see the usual expected numbers as well.
Just now, I checked and my visits went down by 1 and page views went down by 12. How odd.
I’ve verified I have no filters at all. All previous ones were deleted.

Exactly my thoughts. The stats are slow and cumbersome, and I’m not convinced they’re exactly correct. I’ve got hollywood showing on the map as being in Florida lol.
It’s just “meh?” to me right now. It took me longer to set up than I’ve actually spent perusing the information. The old stat thingee I had was better, but intrusive so I got rid of it.

Google Analytics isn’t taking any more subscriptions for a bit.
