It would seem that the Wordpress folks (authors of the software that this blog and many others use) have started up their own blog hosting service at Wordpress.com (to be clear, you get the software at wordpress.ORG). Interesting move and apparently free. I think it went live this past week(?) or recently at any rate. Not that I can find any informative pages there. Just a greeting page and a sign-up page. Well, i found a FAQ page by guessing (faq.wordpress.com) but I’m not sure how current it is…

The “main” site is essentially a home page and a sign up page. Looks free, although the FAQ mentions that there may be “pay” features in the future. In poking around my free account (well, wouldn’t you get one too if it was free?!?) it seems a lot like the ‘normal’ WP, but with a few limitations. But hey, considering it is free and you don’t have to do a darn thing to set it up, pretty impressive!

Maybe I’ve said “free” in this post too many times?
