Some Pocket PC updates - now for RSS reader?

[before I start, want to mention this -- should've been in the earlier post... Visual Web Developer 2005 Express Edition (free) is a pretty sweet little html editor. I've yet to figure out all the other stuff it can do, but it definitely can do the editing very nicely. ]

Had a bit of a juxtaposition of posts today. I had recently mentioned that my Pocket PC was going to get a flash in the near future. I redid my “main” web site and found a rather dusty/moldy Pocket PC page. Well, since I had actually just finished flashing and reloading the iPAQ with what I considered my “essential” apps, it sure seemed like a good time to update that page.

So I did, kinda. At least, I got the Essentials part updated. [Oops, no I didn't, but it will be before you see this post... I had forgotten the one Today screen plug-in that I loves the most. It works very well with Pocket Plus too.] The rest of the page got some dusting off and shuffling, but I see some old and/or busted links there that need some attention. Maybe tomorrow after I get back from the office and am watching the Bronco’s game. :-)

The flash itself was quite painless (aside from losing almost 2 years of cruft and data…) and since I’ve initially only reloaded the stuff I use almost daily, that went quickly as well. Had a bit of panic when it seemed as though I might not be able to find older versions of Spb Pocket Plus and Rescoe Explorer, but both companies emailed me the versions that would work with my (purchased) licenses. Nice Service!

Now I have a Pocket PC that connects wirely at home (rusty old WEP WAP) and now at work too (shiny new WPA WAP). That’s a lot of online goodness. So… if I had a good online RSS reader that worked with the Pocket PC…

I hear that bloglines has a mobile version of the site. Although I’ve a huge Netvibes fan, I may have to check out bloglines. I think I can safely assume Netvibes won’t be happening on ye olde ipaq. I found some pocket PC RSS readers that “sync” to the unit, but then I’d just have two different readers not in touch with each other. No better way to describe that besides “teh suck”. Don’t want that sort of mess.

Know of any other online readers that might have a “mobile” version?

I noticed that you “blinklist”-ed a tag to FeederReader. I wanted to invite you to comment on what you like and what you don’t like about FeederReader on the FeederReader Forums. I’d love to hear your thoughts on how it works for you.

Also, right now FeederReader has HTTP Authentication that you can add to any feed. This helps with Bloglines synchronization, but is not the final piece for full, easy, synchronization of individual messages. I’ve had users successfully pull down the Bloglines OPML file (listing all your Feeds) straight from Bloglines. FeederReader will allow you to update the list very easily as well.

Please let me know how you like FeederReader, and if you have any suggestions for improvement! Thanks!
