Google is now going to help us with Spyware

From Putting a Stop to Spyware, it seems that Google is off to a new crusade. While the cynics will certainly boo and hiss, I think any time any company takes up this crusade it is a “good thing”(tm).
I suppose now I need to figure out why we’ve coined a new term (badware), but the new site is rather interesting. As near as I can tell, there’s not a ton of real meat there, but lots of good overview with links to other useful sites. So, I can see passing it out as an url when I tell a client “dude, yer hosed. oh, don’t want me to fix you? Ok, go here….” One of the links is to Download.com’s Spyware Center, with which I’ve actually been rather impressed. Nice to see “big media” kinda getting it right.
Anyways, the StopBadware site seems to be interested in collecting stories. This will be a good one to keep an eye on for a bit and see what they produce for interesting (or compelling) content!
