Odd Bedfellows in the Anti-Spyware Biz

Have you seen SpywareTesting.org yet? There’s not much there, but some of what is there is rather interesting. For instance, the Partners Page. Did you ever think you’d see some of those all working cooperatively together? (ICSA Labs/Cybertrust, McAfee, Symantec Corp, Trend Micro and Thompson Cyber Security Labs).
From the main page:
This site will serve as a location to share information about spyware, spyware testing and collaboration between anti-malware researchers. Spyware and other potentially unwanted technologies are some of the fastest growing risks to consumers and organizations. While the Anti-Spyware Coalition (ASC) has made great strides in helping to standardize Terms and Risk Modeling, at this time there is a lack of standardized third-party evaluation criteria and common standard samples to used by reveiwers and certifiers in their testing environments.
Curious to see how this turns out. Think it is at all related to the recent StopBadware site recently launched? Think maybe some of the smaller (dare I see free software) guys can or will get involved too?
