Just cleaning up the email inbox and I see I have email from Microsoft titled, “Microsoft Office Live beta is just around the corner.” Well cool, I’d forgotten all bout this (earlier post) but I do recall being quite intrigued. According to the email, some beta registrants will be notified “soon.”
I don’t see anything in the email forbidding me to disclose this… holler if you know differently as I don’t have the terms at hand (shame on me). It looks like Office Live is comprised of 3 parts:
- Office Live Basics: Domain name, web hosting, company e-mail and more. Site design tool and branded email are mentioned.
- Office Live Collaboration: Shared sites and online business apps. Create sites, access from anywhere. Password protect. Looks like this spot includes a bunch of online apps that can be used to manage various aspects of a business.
- Office Live Essentials: All of the above — and more. more email accounts and more email features (“enhanced access” is mentioned. mobile? imap? Please, not “outlook web access”!). Analytics. Frontpage extensions!
Is SharePoint bundled into this somewhere?
I’m still intrigued.
