So long, again, World of Warcraft

I cancelled my World of Warcraft subscription (again) this past weekend. [I'd link to a post from last year but alas, most of the old blog is gone.] Numerous reasons, but I suppose the main reason is that I haven’t really played it in several weeks, and before that I’d been slowing down. Just too many other things on the plate right now. Not like they haven’t always been there (*cough*) but I’m more interested in them now.

Fun game, and still have lots of online friends there, but I just keep losing the “pull” to log in. Why pay to play if you’re paying but not playing? I’ll miss those folks though.

I was hoping to pick up some betas for other games, but so far no real progress there unless you count some of these new “pay to beta test” schemes. I briefly kicked around the idea of going back to Everquest, but I think I’ve done that enough times to know you can’t go home again.
