Goowy and ListMixer - features

Why yes, I’m still experimenting with how to share a few links and thoughts every now and again without becoming just another “linkblog”. Thanks for noticing. This one’s a follow-up of a couple older posts.

Goowy - I wrote about Goowy last month (first and mentioned) and generally still really like what they have going on. I listened to an “Inside the Net” podcast where Leo and Amber “more or less” interviewed Alex Bard, President of Goowy.com. I say more or less as it really was a bit painful to listen to Amber admit she hadn’t used it recently and Leo, as near as I can tell, had never seen it until he registered during the interview. However, Alex did a great job and really gave a lot of information about his product and pretty much saved the episode. All imho of course.

I was pleasantly surprised to receive a note from Alex (ain’t great how we just assume a first name basis in blogs?) this morning in my email thanking me for a fair review and inviting me to participate in upcoming alpha testing for integrated IM and virtual file storage. Well heck! How can I not participate? My last post mentioned IM a bit and I’ve recently written about my (unsuccessful thus far) quest for tolerable online storage. So I’ve responded affirmatively and look forward to the advanced peeks in the weeks to come. (I’m impressed that he turned up an email address for me, I don’t make it real easy from the blog, but I do cough up on the “main” site. Maybe I should make it easier?)

ListMixer: Wrote about this one last week and got a nice comment from the author, Sid (there’s that first name basis again), indicating that the features I’d been looking for are now live in his product. Users can now delete links and quite conveniently edit links as well.

I’m still wrestling with BlinkList and Quick Blinks vs. ListMixer for my “link triage”… I like ‘em both which just complicates things. And both are very responsive to what folks ask for.
