Logahead and Firefox UI redesign

Short post again. I’m fried and barely awake.
Have you heard all the buzz about Logahead yet? Essentially, it is a new blog platform that’s all “ajax’ified” and fully buzzword compliant. It is also, I have to say, pretty damned slick. And the fact that it was produced by one 17 year old lad makes me want to schedule a psychiatric visit to talk about my new inferiority complex. Sheesh. Installing it is dead simple and it even offers a very simple/fast/easy Wordpress import option. Pretty active community around it too, for being so “young”.
Someday I might look into it more. For now, I’ll take the old man wait-and-see attitude though. Is it secure and safe? I dunno yet. Are all the bells and whistles available? Dunno. And, I need to better understand how to create a theme. But this is definitely a very slick package and well worth keeping an eye on — or diving in if you’re the early adopter type (that I used to be). I will confess, however, that I have installed it and am playing around a bit still.
Just a quick note on future firefox: Caught a link earlier today about a usenet post discussing possible UI redesign. Personally, I like what I read. And I can anticipate the howls of protest from the folks that think ie7beta is too “weird”. Holy cow, this will rock their worlds. Ya know, FF is still my daily driver, but I have to admit that it does feel a bit stodgy… If nothing else, I’m glad to see the discussion.

My biggest worry about logahead is it’s future. It’s one guy, and while it’s released as open source I believe there’s no ‘team’ on it yet… this is an example of web2.0 that I’m nervous about. It’s the kind that might become abandonware and I don’t want to become attached to it too soon. I’ve got commitment issues lol.
I did finally get it to download, after having download problems with it a few days ago, and I played with it a bit, but that whole one guy thing makes me skittish… esp. when it’s a student. Students get busy with things that are, quite honestly, more important than new blogging software, and well… I don’t like depending on one person for software development. Vox might agree.
True enough, Rich. But it IS open source and there do seem to be some folks getting very involved. I share your concerns to a degree, but I was pretty impressed by the number of folks at the forums actually “contributing” vs begging for help.
