There are a lot of online apps. There are a lot of neat online apps. There are a lot of online apps that I visit/use fairly frequently. I got wind of a new one that isn’t just neat… I could see it falling into that rare “essential” category. Gliffy. This is more than just an online word processor. What can it do? From the FAQ:
Our first product is based around document creation. Some of the documents you’ll be able to build include:
- Flow Charts
- Workflow documents
- Class Diagrams
- Network Diagrams
- Database schemas
- Website layouts/wireframes
- Floor plans
- Seating charts… and more!
Check out the Examples page too.
Of course, it is a restricted beta. Blah. But I want this. This would be so incredibly useful at work. Dare I call it a Visio killer for the average folks? Ok ok, too soon to say that. I haven’t even seen it in action! But dang.
I saw a decent overview of this on a blog earlier this week. Damned if I can find it now. *sigh*
