In a bit of a surprise move last week, I got the go ahead to research and implement a wiki for our development team at the day job. Wow! Now the challenge: In an ideal world, it should be something I can install internally and… on a windows server. Urgh. That last constraint is harshing my mellow a bit. I really don’t want to do WAMP on a box just for wiki. Hoping to turn up a solid solution that can run on IIS.
Yeah, I know there are tons that can be Ruby on Rails, but surely there are more than these that’ll do IIS/SQL Server?
- Openwiki Last updated March 2002
- Open Wiki Next Gen. So far, after browing their wiki, I’m rather confused on what it needs. However, the Quick Start seems promising.
- Perspective. Despite the grueling URL structure, seems promising.
- Noodle. Access or file based data storage (ugh!)
- tikiwiki WAMP
- Mediawiki (ala Wikipedia) WAMP/WIMP (nice walkthroughs here)
Lots of possibilities, but none make me shiver with delight yet. Guess I’ll install a couple and see how it shakes out. And if you’re aware of any great candidates that I haven’t found yet please drop a comment!
