Want to exercise your patience? Run the Ubuntu live CD on a P2 366 with 128 MB. The machine is actually a laptop that I’ve cobbled together out of spare parts of chassis of a few laptops that I’ve ended up with. I thought it might be interesting to put linux on it, but running the live CD won’t give me any hint of what performance really will be like! All I’m doing is listening to the DVD drive crunch endlessly.
I think maybe I’ll try and install Ubuntu on it and see how that works. Really though, I should probably be digging for a distribution aimed at old/small machines, eh? Open to suggestions…
