Can’t Install the latest WGA Validation stuff?

Windows Update was just plain refusing to install the latest piece of big brother software from Microsoft. I really didn’t mind having to install it (I’m legit) but be damned if I wanted to waste hours trying to get something like that installed… and it bugs the snot out of me when updates fail. Repeatedly.

So, if you’re getting that lovely 0×80242006 error, have a look at this support forum posting. Got the download direct from there and got it resolved.

Yay, now I have officially sanctioned spyware installed? :-p
