What would be the purpose?

As I’m eating lunch at my desk I decide to pop over to the blog and check for spam and comments. A new “incoming link” catches my eye. It is labeled as Technology. I go check it out and see a copy of my first version of the Scoble post I’d made a week or two ago. Hrmm… At the bottom, a link is back to me for being the Original Post.
Fine, whatever — at least there’s a link back. After all, do have that Creative Commons badge in my sidebar which basically allows such nonsense. Granted, I might want to specify a more useful attribution format at some point…
I glanced around that site and realized there is no original content there. It is all aggregated from others. Odd, but there are no ads either. So, what’s the purpose of doing something like that? Google Page Rank farming? Heh, they’re gonna be bummed to realize my PR isn’t exactly stratospheric (stopped tracking it but I think I was a 5?) :-p

yeah, that happens to me every so often. given how good blogs are at generating ‘authority’ for keywords, i’m guessing they might set up a real site there later? i don’t know.
