Small Followup on WP Paid Support

The WordPress paid support option has generated a small buzz. Want to clear one thing up: When I wrote about it last night, I was certainly not trying to imply that this was a bad thing or evil. I simply have, as a support volunteer, some concerns.
Donncha has a response (he even refers to my early post, but calls me “Peter” for some reason. I’m chris! Or Handy.). Another writer has a much more negative take on things, but Matt has the first comment there. Worth a read.
If you’ve ever done a clean install of WordPress, you’ll know Matt and Donncha — they’re automatically in your blog’s blogroll.
Some other takes on the topic.

Oops, sorry about that! I looked around your blog for your name and found Peter mentioned somewhere. I couldn’t find your name at all!
I’m glad you brought up the support issue, almost everyone else talked about the business end of it. None of us want to alienate the current users which is why it’s so important that there’s a friendly voice available on the forum.
