Microsoft announced that IE7 beta3 is now available. Some interesting new features/fixes and I’m glad to finally see tab re-ordering is in there.
[Update] Also, some RSS reading enhancements.
More on the user experience changes.
Just for grins, I’ll be using this as my full-time browser at home for the next few days/weeks and see what I think (*gasp* no Opera?). Stay tuned for user impressions.

One thing I noticed for the first time ever on the download site for IE7b3 was the ability to install a plugin and actually verify my copy of winders and download through firefox. This is, I think, the first time I haven’t had to switch to either another program that it downloads and then gives me a code, or switch entirely to IE to do the downloading.
IE wants to make it easier for firefox users to switch it seems…
Of course the page probably wouldn’t render at all in Opera so why bother even trying?
You couldn’t wait for an excuse to leave that browser could you? I don’t blame you.
Yeah, I noticed that the other day when I was at MS with firefox that the validation thing was much more seamless. Not so with Opera. Still had the “download the tool and copy/paste the code” routine there. So MS has definitely nodded in FF’s direction.
(It rendered fine in Opera)
Wasn’t in a huge hurry to leave Opera, no. I DO like it in spite of the few flaws I’ve noted here. That being said… and me being fickle… IE7b3 has been working well too. Future blog post there.
