Netvibes + Meebo = Nifty

Saw an interesting announcement at the Netvibes blog today: Netvibes added a Meebo module. This is tremendously cool (and horribly overloaded at the moment… but it worked well earlier today when I tried it).

Netvibes and Goowy have quite an interesting horse race going on. Netvibes was a bit late with the IM piece, but integrating with Meebo is, at least to me, a huge win. Goowy is flash based (right?) and Netvibes isn’t. Both work just fine for RSS reading.

Give it a shot and see what you think (might wait until tomorrow though…).

[update]: It doesn’t work with IE7b3. /sigh

[update 2]: Actually, Meebo alone doesn’t work with IE7b3 either. /double sigh.

In my opinion a really good service is http://www.pageflakes.com , it loads really fast and has more features than those ones that you said, and it loads faster too

  • [...] Several weeks ago, the Netvibes and Meebo integration was announced. Initially I was pretty excited about it, but quickly grew disenchanted with how it worked. Losing my blinking tabs when messages arrived was a deal-breaker. However, I played with it enough during that time that I decided to switch to Meebo full time for IM purposes. Which, fortunately, coincided with my switching back to Firefox for browsing (meebo sucks on ie7b3 and Opera 9, alas). [...]
