Every now and then something on Digg grabs my attention. Today, it was titled “Plant a phone call to yourself. You’ll need it!” and a link to Popularity Dialer. What a terrible, twisted, socially retarded yet sooo cool concept! I’m ashamed for loving it.

Long story short: Have a meeting coming up that you want an excuse to leave? Use this service to schedule a call to your cell phone 10 minutes after the meeting starts. Bingo, instant excuse. You can even choose what the conversation will be on the other end (the affirmation one is … disturbing…). Check out their background page for more info and scenarios.

Is it wrong to admit that I can see myself using a service like this?
