Zoho Rolled Out Single Sign-on

Last night the folks from Zoho rolled out one of their least flashy and most useful upgrades thus far: Single Sign-on for all their services. No more keeping track of different IDs or registrations for the various Zoho products, one gets you all.

Jumping from one Zoho offering to another works great in my testing so far. I logged into Planner, then jumped over to Writer, then Show. The only one that initially went awry was my leap to Zoho Sheet. That one just didn’t seem to like me very much.

Zoho sheet oops

However, after a quick visit to the new “Accounts” screen accessable from any of the Zoho apps (mentioned in their blog post), all seems to be fine. I didn’t really do anything, but I launched Sheet from there and got right in.

I even jumped into Chat and Creator and those are two services I hadn’t ever tried before.

I first mentioned this SSO thing at the end of August. In the grand scheme of things, a month and a half to build and deploy something like this seems rather impressive. Especially when you look at all the other stuff they’ve been up to along the way.

  • We had some initial setup problems in zoho sheet. Things should work fine now.

  • [...] In unrelated news due to a nap Handy scooped me on the zoho single sign in which is HUGE news to me. I’m a big zoho fan, and while I can’t get behind their planner program that he swears by, I love the spreadsheet and it recently got the ability to paste into multiple cells, something that was missing a while back. Very happy with the growth and success zoho is enjoying. I hope they soon get some big name money backing. I’m a fan and want them to be around for a long time. Now if they’d do a scheduling ability with a calendar similar to outlook that would sync with a PDA I’d be done with MS products completely hehehe. (FWIW: Vista beta RC2 is sitting on my desktop in .iso format waiting for me to grow a pair and install it lol) Find Posts related to:simplerich, zoho, zoho sheet [...]
