Major Google Reader Improvement

Google Reader has become an impressive feed reader over the past few months. However, it has always had one major gap: No ability to display articles oldest first. Many have asked for this ability, but it just never happened.
Until today, that is. The Google Reader blog now has an article up titled, “Dwelling in the Past” which announces this new feature!
Ironically, I switched back to Bloglines just a couple days ago. I was off-line a few days over the weekend and had a lot of articles piled up. Reading them in reverse chronological order was rather annoying.
Now it’s a bit of a tossup. Both readers have very capable mobile versions that work well on my Pocket PC. Both pretty much do everything I want for day to day use. The only thing Google Reader is missing (in my humble opinion) is a way for me to offer folks a link to my subscriptions the way Bloglines does. Or does it? Seems like it should but I’ve yet to figure out how.
Now to decide if I should switch back…

You can make some labels public. Public labels get their own automatically created pages and feeds.
When you’re reading an item you can press S to star it or press L to label it. (Once the label box appears, enter the label and press Enter.)
To share your starred items or a particular label, go to Settings > Tags and click the grey feed icon to the right of what you want to make public. You then get a web page that other people can see and a feed they can subscribe to. (E.g.: http://www.google.com/reader/shared/user/15432005144063326984/label/lawrence)
I entered a reply here explaining how to make your feed public in Google Reader but WP said it was spam. Email me @ solotech_at_cjaNOorgSPAMuk if you want the info.
Thanks cja. I unspammed your initial comment.
The sharing items thing is pretty cool, but I don’t really want to share the articles, I want to share the list of what I’m subscribed to!
