Zoho Wiki Released

Early this morning, I received an email from Arvind (the Zoho blogger) letting me know that Zoho had just released a new project: Zoho Wiki. This one is so new that it hasn’t made it to the Zoho home page yet.
Some of the key features from his email:
- All standard Wiki features
- A powerful WYSIWYG editor
- Grouping functionality where your Wiki can be viewed and/or edited by a selected group of members
- Embedding of objects into your Wiki pages like a Zoho Sheet chart, a Zoho Show slide show, a Zoho Creator application/form or a YouTube video. Visit this Zoho Wiki page for more.
Seriously cool. That last link is a nice demo showing off what can be done. Visit it, it goes into far more detail than I will here.
We have a wiki at the office (last mentioned here). In general, I can say it gets used; But not nearly as much as we might have hoped. The feedback I’m offered most often is that wiki markup is “easy, but a pain in the butt.” In other words, it actually holds people back from adding content — geeks and non-geeks alike.
With the editor that the Zoho Wiki has (aka Zoho Writer!), I don’t think that’d ever be an issue again. For my work situation, two things would make this just about perfect:
- A MediaWiki conversion process of some sort (hey, if I’m going to dream, I’ll dream big!)
Heck, I’d even suggest Zoho charge for something like this… - The powers that be at work would need to be willing to consider a hosted solution. I’m not sure if that’d be a battle or not, to be honest… but I may just pitch it and see
Zoho continues to be on the ball with their online apps. The levels of integration are very very impressive. If you’re looking for any online solutions, check these guys out first.

Thanks for the positive review!
We just launched the Beta today. Allow us some time to have migration facilities, paid versions etc, Chris
Ok, I’ll allow some time… how about next week?
