Social Stuff: Pandora, Meebo, Del.icio.us and BlinkList

Here’s a collection of recent updates from several “social” web applications that I follow.
Pandora, my favorite streaming music site, announced some new social features a couple days ago. All sorts of fun stuff added to enable listeners to find other, similar listeners or new music.
You can search profiles, search based on “channels”, or even based on artists. Sort of a “last.fm lite”… but not really a direct competitor (I think?).
Speaking of which, PandoraFM is still a great way to listen to Pandora and have many of the side benefits of last.fm all bundled together. If you do either or both, you want to check this out.
Next, I’d like to mention that the Meebo people continue to improve their service as well. They announced some new stuff yesterday. Nothing world-changing, but it’s nice to finally have display images in the app. There are also some different color choices (pink, green or purple alternatives to the default blue). Faster login and saved away messages round out the update.
Some more color choices would be nice down the road… not all users are teenage girls! I’ll stick with the default blue for now I reckon.
Next stop on today’s social trail: Del.icio.us announced the tagometer. Fun little gadget that I bet we’ll be seeing on lots of blogs and sites in the near future. It’s more than the “Save to del.icio.us” links folks have had for a long time. Instead, it also mentions how many people have saved the current page and what tags they used.
Get the code for it at the tagometer page.
And in conclusion, BlinkList announced their new List View. I mentioned it several weeks ago, but maybe it was just in beta until this week? Nice alternative view for what I still think is the best “looking” social bookmarking site around.

Oh, and contrary to what you might have read on some SEO forum, this is not a "Do Follow" blog.

[...] Earlier today I received a comment nudging me towards Pandora Stations. A very cool site capitalizing on the ability to share “stations” created with Pandora. I wandered over to have a look. [...]
