OneCare Tanks Test

PC World has an article up titled, “Microsoft OneCare Last in Anti-Virus Tests.” It would seem that OneCare fell way behind the other 16 competitors in recent AV-Comparatives testing (source of the report in PDF format).
I bought a license for OneCare two weeks ago — got the beta testers deal. Covers 3 computers for under $20. I liked it when I tested it, I liked it when I bought it. In spite of these results, I’ll probably continue to use it.
My family and I are pretty savvy about viruses and malware, I’m really not all that concerned. Don’t think we’ve ever had a virus outbreak at home. We’ve had issues with visitors clicking banners though (spyware/malware)… but I have other preventatives for that kind of stuff now. Firefox helps a lot there too.
I guess I need to read through that report and figure out what OneCare didn’t pick up. For instance, how much do I really care if my XP PC’s anti-virus software doesn’t detect viruses that affect other OS’s? More importantly, what are the odds that those sorts of things would end up my XP PCs?
