Rediscovering Google Features

The Google Search Features page is something I’ve found several times over the past few years. And each time I find it it is like a new experience. Weird. Worth the visit though to once again reacquaint myself with the wonders of Google beyond search.
The Movies section, for instance, is really quite cool. Every time we want to see a movie the wife and I blow 10 or 20 minutes dinking around trying to find online listings that are worth using. Tonight I typed in “movie wild hogs” and instantly had links to the 10 closest movie theaters with start times.
The PhoneBook feature is another one I keep forgetting about. Type in first (or initial) name, last name and city, state or just state. Search. Get listings. So, like most web folks you immediately tried your own name, didn’t you? Want to de-list it? Google will help you with that too.
How cool is Search by Number? Type in a number and get results. What sorts of numbers? Examples given include Fed Ex, USPS and UPS shipping numbers. VIN and UPC codes. Patent numbers and FAA Airplane numbers (?!).
Give it a look and see if you don’t learn something new about what you can do.
