Looking back at April, here are the top articles for the month:
- WordPress 2.1 - More Editor Options - Extra buttons in the WP WYSIWYG editor. It led to a nifty/simple little plugin.
- Quick Firefox Tweak - Free mem - Forever a crowd pleaser here.
- How-to: Using SyncToy to make a nightly mirror of My Documents - I’m always a bit surprised at how many searches for SyncToy lead to this one. I also hope it has helped folks.
- First Release: Visualize Advanced Features - The announcement post for that plugin I mentioned up there at the top spot.
- Second Release: Add Related Posts to Your Feed - Another reasonably popular plugin.
What can I infer from this list? Plugins and How-to’s are popular out here on the long-tail!
Which April post did I think would get more attention? Styling Google Reader Clips on Your Site. It is among the lowest viewed posts that I published in April. Totally surprised me!
How about some April browser stats (pictures captured from my Google Analytics account):

Err… gzip?? What the heck? And hey, I exclude my own visits, so those Opera hits aren’t me.
Screen Resolution is interesting. Folks are definitely going bigger. See where 800×600 is?

And finally, we have browsers by platform. No major surprises here, but I was hoping for more Mac users…

C’mon, you’re a little impressed by the IE7 percentage, right?

Damn, I show up on your stats too much lol! Unless, of course, there’s other visitors running dual monitors with insane resolutions (1920×1200) like me
On the other hand, you have way too many visitors, I’m gonna have to stick a redirect in your server that sends me at least one-in-four visitors from your site to mine
I run a 22″ wide screen at 1680×1050 and sometimes I have to squint… 1920×1200? Dang, that must be where all my bandwidth goes!
I am so happy that firefox is ahead of Internet Explorer. I love competition because it creates so much growth and improvement a lot faster. Thanks for the updated post.
hehehe What can I say? I have good eyes
Actually, it’s ’cause I’m slightly myopic, so…my far vision isn’t as good as it should be, but my near vision is better than average…which means that I can use my computer with insane resolutions and small fonts
