Pidgin 2.0 and MeeboMe Together

Want to use the MeeboMe widget but don’t want to run Meebo all the time? Are you using Pidgin?

Check out Manuel’s comment on my earlier Pidgin 2.0 article:

Actually, Meebo Me it?s already open :)
Take a look at this site:

The main problem is you get an authorization request every time someone hits your site, but there is already a plugin to work around that to:

There you go, everything needed to run MeeboMe on your site and have the discussions via Pidgin! I figured I’d “promote” that comment to a post as I found it so very useful.

Thanks Manuel, that’s great stuff.  My contact page is a bit more useful now too.

I’ve been using Trillian but I’ve been unhappy with their support for a while now. I wonder if Pidgin would be a better solution now, especially if it can keep me logged into Meebo Me. :)

Well Lincoln, there’s only one way to find out…

I haven’t used Trillian in several years, but perhaps you can do a similar thing with it? Connecting to Meebo is probably pretty easy, if you can find a plugin to work around the authorization requests thing.
