Acrobat Reader – With RSS?!?

Ok seriously, I realize this is old news, but just today I noticed that one of the reasons Adobe suggests I should upgrade to Acrobat Reader 8 is:

[...] a simple RSS reader.

Huh?

This even made it to Lifehacker last December (wow, I must’ve been under a rock). How seriously weird. It wasn’t slow enough to load, we needed an RSS reader baked in too?

Tried Foxit yet?

I have always been a huge fan of Adobe, and bought their CS2 a couple of years ago. I have pretty much kicked them to the curb because of the resource hogging, and the $2400 price tag on CS3.

Especially when considering I can do everything I used to do with Adobe with Ubuntu.

  • My last couple of jobs have revolved heavily around forms automation/population and, as such, I’ve been using Acrobat for the last 6 years on a daily basis.

Amazing to see how the footprint has increased during that time.

At home, when not on the job, I just use Foxit. SO much faster.
