Remember that USB drive I mentioned in last night’s post about backups?
It died!

Remember that 400GB drive you’re backing everything up to… what if it fails too?
When I first read yesterday’s posts I thought all three of your machines were backing up to the other three which I thought was almost perfect (Almost because they’re all onsite and no offsite back-up, but Mozy does that with some and is going to with more at which point it’ll be perfect.)
I was surprised you weren’t backing up more thoroughly since it’s a set-it and forget-it thing. Especially the pictures.
That would be addressed in the “Long Term” section of the post. What I have going on right now is better than it was but far from ideal!
… and …
New USB drive is up, online and full backup almost complete.
Fortunately I had an old 60GB 2.5″ drive sitting on my shelves so I just popped it in and formatted it.
My favorite part…
60Gb just laying around unused.
Once upon a time, not that long ago that was HUGE.
Tech growing so fast, and yet I’m still not valet parking my hovercar (with trailer hitch) dang it!
LOL Rich - You have a hovercar already?
*sigh* Just like old hard drives, I won’t have one until someone tries to throw theirs away.
