Google Search Changes?

Is this new? Earlier this evening I did a quick one-word search at google for “svchost” and noticed something a bit different at the bottom of the search results page.
It could be that I rarely pay attention, but the “Searches related to:” thing is a new one on me. As is that link for “Search within results.” Have those always been there?
I kinda dig ‘em.

I just tried the same Google search query for svchost and don’t see the related bar. Just curious, were you logged in (personalized search) or not?
It’s not actually new, since I’ve seen it for at least a few months I think. And I only seem to see it when I am logged into my account.
Like TDavid asked, were you logged in?
As a matter of fact, I was logged into my Google account.
I tried logging out and see the same thing. I just tried with IE7 (which has never been logged into my Google account) and a search for “svchost” shows the same deal. Same with Opera 9.2x
Maybe I’ve just been blind.
It appears that it depends on what you search for, I guess.
I just tried a search for “world” and nothing appears on the bottom. Searched for “computer” and it showed up. Some terms display it and some don’t.
Those have been there for a while now. The “search within results” thing is pretty useful to me, but the rest is junk.

Well, I wonder if it is just to help users or is it to lure them to make a search for the keywords that have larger bids from the Adwords advertisers. Only God and Google know!
@WDD - ya know, that’s so very very cynical — but it does make a sort of sense. I wonder if you’re on to something there…
Interesting! I hadn’t noticed the Search Within Results in Google too; that ought to be useful.
