Even More Easier…

Just yesterday I wrote “The Easy Way to Try Google Apps.”  Google just sent me an announcement email — turns out they’ve added some new features today to make it even simpler.

For instance, we now have email routing available as a feature.

Email routing allows administrators to specify inbound delivery rules. Since updating your domain’s DNS settings can affect mail delivery for all users, email routing gives you more flexibility with messages addressed to your domain. You can enable email routing for your entire domain or certain user accounts.

(only for Enterprise/paying customers.  Not an option with the Standard/free plan).  This gives me some options to a couple potential snags I’ve been pondering (perhaps more on those later).

That article led me to the Pilot Instructions.

Once you’ve created a Google Apps account and verified domain ownership, you can set up an email pilot for your domain so that a subset of users can test Google Apps Email. When you set up a pilot with email routing, all mail for your domain will first be delivered to Google. Then, some mail will be delivered to Google Apps Email while the rest is routed on to your other mail system.

Yep, that would simplify things.
