OggSync Mobile

I’ve mentioned OggSync a few times in the past. It was a key product in my quest to sync Outlook with Google Calendar. Not just “key”, it was pretty much the only one I tried that I could trust.
However, once we switched over to Google Hosted at work, I couldn’t ditch Outlook fast enough (*grin*). Then I acquired my Windows Mobile based phone and realized I had a new/similar challenge: Get that Google Calendar info onto my phone.
I really didn’t want to have to reinstall Outlook just to be able to do that. I poked at a couple solutions I found on the web. None seemed to work reliably — or they mandated using Outlook. No good.
While looking at a solution that mandated Outlook I decided that if I really had to go that route, I’d go back to using OggSync again. While visiting the OggSync site I discovered OggSync for Windows Mobile. Bingo! So far it seems to be the perfect solution towards syncing my Windows Mobile phone directly to Google Calendar. If there’s a better option, I haven’t found it yet.
Since I’m currently only syncing one Google Calendar, I can get by with the free version. The main trick with it (besides the one cal limitation) is that the sync isn’t automatic, I have to remember to periodically start the program. But for free? I can tolerate that. It really is just a couple taps.
The Pro version is only $29.95 a year so eventually I’ll probably break down and get it just so that I can sync in my personal calendar and get that automatic syncing. Probably…

Or you might try goosync.com - I’ve had success with this for the past year.
Thanks for that tip, Brock. I may have to give them a closer look in the future.
