Google Apps - Turn On New Features

A month ago I was kvetching about Google Apps always lagging behind. Since then, a great new feature has been added — the ability to enable new features on hosted accounts.
By selecting this option, your domain will be able to see and use new services features at the same time as consumer users of Google’s applications. We’ve sometimes delayed the launch of features like group chat and colored labels to Google Apps domains because we want to ensure that all the features we bring to the Google Apps suite are useful and stable before providing them to our business, education and organizational users.
They go on to mention that the new features are, of course, to be considered only for testing and that there’s no support… But hey, my users now have colored labels and AIM integration, along with the new Gmail interface. And group chat! Nice, huh?
If you manage a Google apps account, log into manage it, go to your Domain Settings and scroll down to the bottom in the “General” section. The bottom checkbox is what you’re after:
(click to biggersize)
Now then, let’s get that start page upgraded to be like iGoogle, eh?

Ah, fantastic! Didn’t know that was there, and have always been annoyed that paying customers get stuff dead last. Hopefully that’ll change now I’ve ticked that magical little box.
Hi Dan — I think you’ll be pleased
