Cable Madness

I’ve been on a quest the past two weekends to cleanup the home office. I’ve made a lot of great progress and I think I see the end.
For instance, I had stacks of books all over the place — many that hadn’t been opened in years. We had a printer table covered with network gear and odds and end.
I’ve cleaned up the network gear and tucked it away nicely. I’ve hauled out the books. There were stacks of hardware and old equipment that I’ve hauled out as well. It’s much cleaner and more “open” in here now.
But I have one last issue. Here’s the corner that used to hold the printer stand:
How should I make these cables look better? The molding is too low, so I can’t tuck cables under it. The carpet goes right up to the wall, so no room there either (and not easy to peel up for tuck-unders).
I’m toying with looking for some white/beige flex hose (inch or smaller diameter) that I can slit and wrap around these. That would look better than velcro ties every 6 inches, right?
Any better ideas?

Wow, that does look empty, besides the cables. You could always try cable raceway: http://cableorganizer.com/surface-raceways/
We took off baseboards and put our cables behind them.
That’s not an option here probably.
You’re going to have to get someone to crochet you some really long weiner dogs like you would put in front of a door to block drafts, and leave them along the room edges.
Thanks Alisha - I got some good ideas at that site. Worst case, I might end up mail-order some stuff to play with.
Rich - My wife just took up knitting. After she’s done with the Weber grill cozy, I’ll see if she can tackle this project
Glad I could help!
We had a Russian intern stay with us one time and we ran a cable in the guest room, but didn’t want an ugly cable showing. So we used a raceway, which looks really nice.
I’ve have to run cables between rooms, which meant placing them along dooways. My solution was to place raceways along the bottom of the doors (I forget what the thing running between the doorposts is called). Nobody in my house ever tripped over them.
