Dangit Microsoft…

Well, a successful day is one in which we learn something, right? Today I learned things. Ooooh boy, did I learn things.
Here’s a snippet from my tweets that sums it up (read the bottom one first):
I honestly wish today wasn’t quite so successful.
What happened? I tried to kill two birds with one stone:
- Replace the Windows 2008 server that wasn’t doing us much good
- Try out SharePoint Services (touched on at the end of grab bag post from earlier this week.)
Figured I’d just build one box for both.
The SharePoint stuff works great — in fact, I’m really digging the inclusion of wiki and blog modules.
But our devs can’t publish their projects to it which defeats the primary purpose of the box. I need to do more research; are FrontPage extensions really needed in this enlightened era in which we live? Crazy talk…
