andLinux Quick Look

This will be a very quick look since I can’t get it to properly run, but conceptually I think andLinux could be pretty sweet. What is it?
andLinux is a complete Ubuntu Linux system running seamlessly in Windows 2000 based systems (2000, XP, 2003, Vista [32-bit only]). This project was started for Dynamism for the GP2X community, but its userbase far exceeds its original design.
So kinda like VMware Fusion that the cool kids are always going on about, but for Windows / Linux.
I really want to play with it, but I can’t seem to get all the way through the installer on my Windows 2000 machine.
I’ll try the support forums in a bit, but apparently I have to send an email to the maintainer to register. That’s a pretty labor-intensive anti-spam measure!
[Update: My next install attempt worked! I had to chose an option that didn't involve running it as a service]

Sounds kinda like Phat Linux from the late 90’s…

Wow. Phat Linux. I’d forgotten about that one.
This is a bit different though in that andLinux is running alongside windows, not just sharing disk space.

Chris, we need to get you a Mac. They say that VMWare Fusion really is that cool, not to mention useful. Surprisingly enough, I’m not a Mac user, but I’m thinking that you’re a litle bit too enveloped in the Windows world. At the very minimum, head over to your local Apple Store and try typing on a MacBook.
Keep in mind that I do understand that you primarily support Windows systems for work and home. I am not even attempting a Windows (not PC; Macs are PCs too) vs. Mac argument.
@Michael: I agree. I need a Mac. I just have this odd mental thing about:
1) Buying new computers
2) Rationalizing buying new computers without a good strong self-justification
I’m starting to feel the urge though.
I can’t confess to having tried this or even the suitability of my comments.. but a quick google for sc.exe returned this :

Maybe you need the Windows NT Software development kit?
“Sc.exe is included with Windows XP and with Windows Server 2003. Sc.exe is also available in the Windows 2000 Server resource kit.”
I can confirm that it is available on my Windows Vista machine too.
