New FolderShare has No Love for Windows 2000

The FolderShare Team Blog announced a new version of the FolderShare client last week while I was traveling. Being the dutiful little upgrader that I am, I spent some time this afternoon updating assorted machines at the office.
Ran into a bit of a snag with the Windows 2000 servers that we still use:
Not supported — well that’s a major bummer.
I took a closer look at the FolderShare download page and sho ’nuff, Win2K is definitely not mentioned.
So far, I seem to be OK running the old client on the Win2K servers and the newer client on the Vista and XP boxes. Hope that remains the case in the future though!
For what it’s worth, I’m excited to see some attention finally being paid to FolderShare. I think it’s an excellent product and had been languishing too long. I also like the new look and feel of things.

And yet it works swimmingly on my macbook.
Im suprised also that it will not support windows 2000 servers. But in saying that it does look promising. And in reply to Rich G’s comment, i also have a Macbook and have been using it and the results have been very good so far. Im sure they will update this so it works better will all different servers in the near future.

Hi Rich - it rocks my Vista and Win2003 machines too
I like it.
In fact, I should’ve mentioned in the article that I REALLY like that it is fewer clicks to get to the activity monitor now.
@Andrew - I wish I had your optimism
Just hope you never have to exit out of FolderShare. When FolderShare restarts, it’ll prompt you to upgrade at which time your client will no longer work.
