Firefox 3 Release Candidate 1 Out

Firefox 3 RC1 is now available. You want it just to enjoy the new location bar. It rocks. Really.

Question for the day: I’ve heard lots of people mention how much faster it is. Are they considering the lack of add-ons compatible with FF3? FF2 is a lot faster without add-ons loaded too!
Reckon I’ll go grab Nightly Tester Tools so I can use my beloved add-ons. Oh, and delicious has a beta add-on for FF3 already out.

Thanks for mentioning the Nightly Test Tools. I had Firefox 3 beta 5 looking nice and without the menu and then the RC1 disabled all of that.
Everything seems to work on RC1 though.
Chris, is there a download link without getting on the mailing list? Really don’t need another email bombardment

Oh sure — http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-rc.html
I think the add-ons may be part of it, but I am currently running 8 out of the 11 I would run in FireFox 2 and it still runs a lot faster. I notice it especially on those occasions where I have 20 - 25 tabs open. It runs so much smoother that FireFox 2 did.
FF 3.0 really rocks. It’s so much better than 2.0. Especially the memory usage is a lot lower. I really like it.
