Earlier this week a “Technical Preview” version of Windows Live Writer was announced. I’ve been using it for the posts I’ve made since grabbing it and absolutely love it.
My favorite new feature has to be the new tabbed layout – there are now Edit, Preview and Source tabs along the bottom of the main editing section.
How about some new photo effects? As you can see in the tabs picture we now have rounded corners and tilt. There are other fun features as well that I’m still discovering. The ability to add a reflection to an image is kinda cool…
Tons more reasons to check it out listed at the original announcement, I’ll spare you reading a huge copy/paste but go look as there’s some great stuff.
WLW has been my primary blogging client for quite some time and it just keeps getting better. If you’re a Windows user and blogger I’d seriously encourage you to give it a look.

When are they coming out with an AIR version that will run on my Mac? That’s the only software I miss from Windows.
AIR? never! :-p
Be interesting to see as a Silverlight thingy though — isn’t that what microsoft is pushing as an their AIR alternative?
WLW is one of the reasons I didn’t build my most recent home machine up as *nix. It’s just too damned handy.
How do you find out about all this stuff? I am glad I have you to find if for me, because I would never stumble across any of this. Thanks!
Hey Denice – I read a lot of blogs and news sites
