Hey Ubuntu folks: Have you seen the Dust theme? By default, I find it a bit dark, but if you grab the extensions there’s a “sand” variant that is very easy on the eyes. There is also a Firefox theme but that one is just too dark for me, had to switch back.
I’m using it with the Earthenibex background. Simply lovely.
Other Stuff
How come nobody ever told me about htop? What a sweet upgrade to classic old top. I’ve got this running on my prod server at work now.
As discussed in the Evernote group on Friendfeed, you can run the Windows version of Evernote via wine. I gave it a shot last night. Everything works! However… Visually, it suffers from what can best be described as fugly icon syndrome…

Yeah.
Other issue I ran into must be font related. While I’ve installed all the MS true-type fonts into my wine “bottle”, I can’t tell when stuff is bolded in my notes. Perhaps I need more fonts? I also can’t use the alt-right-click shortcut to create check-boxes which is a short-cut that I’ve come to use a lot.
I might just stick with the web interface when on the Linux box for now.
And finally, anyone tried out the Go-oo office suite? Seems to be a descendant of OpenOffice but with claims of better performance and more features. I was thinking of giving it a try, but my ADD kicked in while looking over the download page (seriously, omg, c’mon…). But, if it lives up to the claims I guess I’d be willing to brave that page again.

htop looks awesome, I want it for OSX!
I love the look of the background you have there. I have a orange – brown – black theme for my Ubuntu. Its kinda like yours but my theme is really different.
Also I have downloaded Go-oo and it seems good. I agree the software is better then open office but not Office 2007. I hate to admit it but Windows out did itself with 2K7 in my opinion. I have heard some bad stories about 2K7 but have yet faced any real issues myself.
You should try the Aquatint Black theme for Firefox. Its black but with blue buttons so it kinda balances it out for me. Not to dark and just dark enough to be cool with me.
BTW great blog…I will be stopping by to check up on more reads. I really liked you post on the PC vs Mac Video Ads. Those were awesome.
@Peter – I did a quick web search didn’t see anything too hopeful. Bummer, eh?
@Zero 3 – Thanks for the comments and stopping by. Glad you liked it. I’ll go have a look at Aquatint.
