Upcoming Events For February 2009

Some fun stuff coming up the latter part of this month!

Next Saturday, Feb 21, 2009,  I’ll be spending the day at the Rocky Mountain Tech Trifecta. Free training and overview (over 42 sessions) covering .NET,  SQL Server  and Windows topics. I’m still working on deciding which sessions to attend, but it looks like a lot of fun – and did I mention free?

attending-badge The following Saturday, the 28th, is WordCamp Denver. I have been volunteering support for WordPress for a few years now and this will be my first chance to attend one of these. Maybe I’ll even get to meet some of the folks from Automattic.

Funny part there is that I do all my support stuff under a pseudonym so it’s not like anyone will see my name and know who I am… in hindsight, I should probably “re-brand” my support account to at least be more related to me, eh?

I’m looking forward to both events equally – one totally Microsoft-centric and one definitely more open-source focused. I guess I’m straddling the fence :-)

If any readers want to try and meet up at either event just drop a comment here, DM me over on Twitter, or pluck my email address from my About & Contact page.

  • Know what you mean about the pseudonyms – I’m struggling with what to do about that myself at the moment, in a number of spheres.

I got all excited when I read about the Rocky Mountain Tech Trifects – alas, I’m in the Canadian Rocky Mountains

    • Via some polite begging I managed to get that WordPress support forum name modified to be “Chris_K” instead of the old “HandySolo”. Pretty exciting stuff!

That particular ‘nym was more appropriate waaaayyy back in the day and I think I’m ready to just leave it by the wayside now.
