A couple weeks ago I finally got a bit frustrated with my Windows Mobile phone. Carrying it around in my pockets and laptop bags was causing it to take “liberties” way too often. You see, I’d get a text message or some other alert which would “wake up” the phone. While awake, it would get jostled and…
- randomly dial people
- redial my last call (aka “butt dial”)
- add / move / delete calendar entries
- delete contacts
- start random apps
… and that’s just what I caught it doing. Who knows what else has happened over the past couple years.
I wanted something like the iPhone users have and after a very brief search I found S2U2 (Slide 2 Unlock 2). Locked screen, just slide the button to the other end to unlock it. No passwords to get in the way, just a nice easy way to keep the phone locked and not randomly changing stuff.
This app rocks! The default settings will work just fine, but if you like to fiddle and tweak there are about a kabillion options to muck about with (seriously! It can get overwhelming.) I’ve been using it for 2 weeks now and am happy to report I’ve had zero issues.
If you’re running a touch enabled Windows Mobile device, I highly recommend this one. Did I mention it is free? (be sure to donate a bit if you use and love it though!)

Saweet. You read my mind. I was grumbling to myself about this last week, but I hadn’t gotten up the gumption to look for a solution. I will check that out.
