Here’s a slick little utility for Windows 7 that I’ve been using for months. Unfortunately, I just keep forgetting to mention it here! Let’s remedy that.
Taskbar Meters is, in their own words, “Incredibly simple meters that live in the Windows 7 task bar.” And really, that about sums it up. You can run any or all of the CPU, Memory and Disk IO meters. They just sit down there in the taskbar and do meter’y stuff.
Right-click on one to get handy shortcuts to the Task Manager and Resource Monitor:
Taskbar Meters is one of those utilities that does exactly what it says. And sometimes that’s OK. Free and you can even get the source. If you’re a Windows 7 user, check it out.
