A Ship Without a Sail

There definitely is a downside to online only type tools. Netvibes is down right now — and I’m lost without it! I used to keep my “blog later” notes in OneNote, but lately I’ve been keeping them in Netvibe’s little scratch pad applet. Works out well since I usually have it up in a Firefox tab. When I see something that I might want to check out more in depth or blog about I just grab the url and write a few words about it.
Ah well. I do recall one link that I was going to mention as another candidate for The Toolkit. From a site I blogged about a week or so ago, Nirsoft’s Password Tools. Some will consider these perilously close to cracker tools, but boy… I sure could use these on a lot of side jobs. People are always forgetting passwords on stuff they want me to fix. I haven’t really played with any of these yet, but I hope to over the upcoming holiday weekend and see if they’re “worthy” of the tool kit.
Nirsoft seems to put out some interesting stuff. I may have to keep an eye on this guy and see what else he comes up with. Reminds me of the AnalogX and Sys Internals sites. Just neat and useful stuff.
