[cancel] WTB: Battery for Dell Latitude

February 13, 2008 by Chris · 3 Comments

2/16/2008 Update: This post can be safely ignored — the laptop in question died of natural causes earlier this evening

Do you have a working battery for a Dell Latitude C600 series laptop laying around?

I’m looking for one and I’d like to think that I could score one for under $40 (the best I can find on eBay). PayPal for payment work?

For that matter, if you do have an old Latitude lying about, I might be interested in buying your keyboard too. Mine’s a bit worn out, but still functional. Just missing a couple minor keys. Minor key! Did you see what I did there… bah, never mind.

Anywho, drop me a note (see the Contact page for my email address) if you might be interested in selling. Include how much you’re asking (include shipping!).

Thursday Thoughts

Random thoughts and links follow:

There’s a downside to the “I follow” movement. I’ve been seeing these “seo magic” articles that list out all the blogs they’ve found not using “nofollow” and encourage folks to leave comments for SEO purposes. I get some garbage comments… If the comment is tolerable but the link is to a splog, I’ll edit out the URL… (read the Disclaimer page).

That being said, I still prefer “I follow” over “nofollow”. I just seems friendlier.

The bloggers are going nuts over Dell shipping PCs with Ubuntu on ‘em. I, personally, think it is pretty dang cool. Coding Horror has a great article up titled, “The End of the Microsoft Tax at Dell” that is a good read.

I enjoyed Daily WTF’s “The Great Pyramid of Agile” article today. There’s a lot to like about Agile, just as there’s a lot to like about following any sort of process. But sometimes the hype gets a bit too much.

Have you seen Eve, the real time network visualization tool? Holy matrix batman. Check out the videos. I don’t know yet if I need it, but I sure want it.

If you’re using Firefox, Gmail and Google Calendar, you might enjoy Lifehacker’s Better Gmail and Better GCal extensions.
