I haven’t changed the theme of this blog for almost two years. That’s forever in bloggers years, right? While I liked what I had, I recently decided it was time for change. Until recently I have always had two thoughts about WordPress themes: Code my own I wanted to know exactly how Alan Houser has decided that he needs to redesign his site (sites?) and has opted to do it in a very open fashion. He’s started a new blog and expects to fully document the process along the way — while seeking input and feedback. Why? To quote Alan: The web is full of how-to articles, but I It has been several years since my “main” site and two blogs all had a common look & feel. Far too long, but I’m sure you all know how priorities can vary from year to year. That partially explains why posts have been scarce here the past week. I’m finally working on a redesign. You can do some pretty neat things with it — be sure to check out all the pull-down menu options. When done experimenting, download all the theme files as a zip or individually. Even offers widgets support. An interesting (and intriguing) way to One of the neat things about Google Reader is that I can “share” articles that I think other folks might find interesting (my shared stuff). In fact, there’s even an option to easily add a list of shared items to a site that’s very simple to setup.
