I needed to put a new domain controller up at one of our production sites this week. We had an older web server in the dev environment that doesn’t get much use these days so I converted it to a virtual machine (I love VMware Converter!) and then reloaded it with Windows 2003 R2.

Woah. That seems… nuts.
Food for thought: How do you determine what your work is worth?
My lone windows 2003 domain controller died today. The boot/OS/App drive appears to have decided it didn’t want to live anymore. No warning, just dead. Won’t power up, won’t even make a little whine.
Ok fine. I’ve mentioned enough times that 2k3 and Active Directory are rather overkill for the home office.
